Job Ref. 1590

Job Description

Support the design & optimisation of green hydrogen plants. This role focuses on designing, optimizing, and managing processes for producing, storing, and using hydrogen (green, blue, or grey).

Requirements:

  • Chemical/process engineering background.

  • Knowledge of electrolyser technology.

  • Industrial hydrogen project experience.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Process Design & Engineering

  • Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).

  • Design systems for hydrogen production (electrolysis, reforming, gasification).

  • Size and specify equipment (electrolyzers, compressors, storage vessels, pipelines, purification units).

2. Optimization & Safety

  • Optimize hydrogen yield, efficiency, and energy consumption.

  • Conduct hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) and risk assessments.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (ATEX, hydrogen embrittlement, explosion protection).

3. Project Development & Execution

  • Support feasibility studies and techno-economic assessments.

  • Provide input during Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed design.

  • Work with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contractors during project delivery.

4. Testing & Commissioning

  • Oversee commissioning of hydrogen plants or pilot facilities.

  • Troubleshoot process issues during startup and operation.

5. Research & Innovation

  • Evaluate new hydrogen technologies (solid oxide electrolyzers, PEM, ammonia as carrier).

  • Support pilot projects and demonstration plants.

  • Collaborate with R&D teams on improving efficiency and reducing costs.

6. Collaboration

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, civil, control systems).
