Job Description

PG Global’s client requires an HSE Advisor for onshore wind operations. If this role is suitable you will be responsible for ensuring that renewable energy projects (wind, solar, battery, hydrogen, etc.) are delivered safely, sustainably, and in compliance with legal and company requirements.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH/OSHA qualification.

  • Strong knowledge of HSE frameworks in renewables.

  • Willing to travel to project sites.

  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).

  • Experience with renewable energy construction (wind farms, solar PV sites, battery storage, hydrogen plants).

  • Familiarity with risks like: working at height, HV electrical systems, heavy lifting, confined spaces, offshore safety.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Health & Safety Management

  • Develop, implement, and monitor project-specific HSE plans.

  • Conduct risk assessments, method statement reviews, and safety audits.

  • Ensure compliance with national legislation, industry standards, and company policies.

  • Support incident/accident investigations and root cause analysis.

2. Site Supervision & Monitoring

  • Carry out regular site inspections and safety walks (construction, commissioning, O&M).

  • Verify contractors’ compliance with PPE use, lifting operations, working at height, confined spaces, electrical safety, etc.

  • Stop unsafe work immediately and advise corrective actions.

3. Training & Awareness

  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings to staff and contractors.

  • Promote a strong safety culture across multicultural, multi-contractor teams.

  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to site teams.

4. Environmental Protection

  • Monitor environmental performance (noise, dust, waste management, spill prevention).

  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits and sustainability targets.

  • Implement biodiversity protection and environmental monitoring programs.

5. Emergency Preparedness

  • Develop and test emergency response plans (fire, medical, evacuation, chemical/hydrogen release).

  • Coordinate with local emergency services.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and KPIs.

  • Report near-misses, hazards, and incidents to management and regulatory authorities.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

7. Collaboration & Leadership

  • Act as the HSE focal point between project management, contractors, and regulators.

  • Participate in HSE meetings, project reviews, and client audits.

  • Promote a “zero harm” and sustainable work culture.
