Job Description
PG Global is seeking multiple 3rd Engineers to be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the ship’s engine room machinery and auxiliary systems, ensuring the vessel’s propulsion and power systems run efficiently and safely. This role will be Employee on record basis meaning the taxes will be deducted at source.
Requirements:
- Brazilian National

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field.

Completion of a recognized maritime academy or marine engineering training program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engine Room Operations

Monitor and operate main engines, auxiliary engines, boilers, and other machinery.

Conduct regular checks on engine room parameters such as temperature, pressure, and lubrication systems.

Maintain logs of engine performance, fuel consumption, and operational status.

- Maintenance & Repairs

Perform routine maintenance on engines, generators, pumps, and other mechanical/electrical systems.

Troubleshoot and repair minor faults or defects in machinery.

Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing of equipment.

- Safety & Compliance

Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures in the engine room.

Ensure compliance with SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea), MARPOL, and other maritime regulations.

Conduct regular inspections to prevent hazards such as fire, oil spills, or machinery failure.

- Auxiliary Systems Management

Operate and maintain auxiliary systems such as pumps, compressors, air-conditioning, fuel, and water treatment systems.

Monitor boiler and steam systems, if applicable.

- Team Coordination

Report to the Chief Engineer and assist other engineering officers in daily operations.

Supervise engine room ratings and assistants during watches.
