Job Description

PG Global is recruiting experienced Offshore Crane Operators to support lifting operations on a DP vessel in the North Sea (UK Sector). The role involves safely operating pedestal cranes, supporting deck activities, and ensuring all lifting operations are carried out in line with company and international safety standards. You are responsible for safely moving heavy loads, equipment, and personnel in one of the riskiest environments offshore.

Responsibilities

  • Operate offshore pedestal cranes for cargo, equipment, and subsea lifts.
  • Conduct pre-use checks and routine crane maintenance.
  • Work closely with deck crew and rigging teams during lifting operations.
  • Ensure compliance with LOLER, IMCA, and company safety procedures.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety drills, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Assist deck crew with mooring, rigging, and cargo handling when required.
  • Coordinate with rigging crews, deck crew, and banksmen (signalers) to ensure safe lifts.
  • Strictly follow lifting procedures, load charts, and company/industry safety standards (e.g., LOLER, API, OSHA).
  • Stop operations if unsafe conditions arise (weather, visibility, unstable loads).
  • Carry out daily checks on crane systems (hydraulics, brakes, hoist lines, safety devices).
  • Report defects, assist maintenance, and ensure proper certification is in place

Requirements

  • Stage 3 Offshore Crane Operator certification (OPITO).
  • BOSIET/FOET and OGUK medical.
  • Experience operating cranes in offshore environments (North Sea experience preferred).
  • Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills.
