Job Description

We are looking for a Marine S/L Observer to join a maritime monitoring team on a established vessel in the Gulf of Mexico. In this role, you will oversee vessel operations, ensuring compliance with international maritime safety, environmental, and licensing standards. Your observations and reports will support safe, lawful, and efficient marine activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe and record shipboard operations, cargo handling, and navigational practices.

  • Monitor compliance with maritime safety regulations and licensing requirements.

  • Identify potential risks, incidents, or non-compliance and report findings.

  • Collaborate with port authorities, shipping companies, and regulatory bodies.

  • Maintain accurate logs and provide detailed reports to management.

  • Conduct safety audits and inspections of vessels and equipment.

  • Verify crew certifications and adherence to operational procedures.

  • Support investigations of marine incidents or near-misses.

Requirements:

  • B1 OCS Visa
  • Experience on Seal 428, Gunlink 2500
  • Experience in maritime operations or marine inspection
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of international maritime safety and licensing regulations
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
